Nearshore Fishing Charters in St. Augustine

Take the Fishing Toward the Beach

Run through the inlet and the fishing changes quickly.

St. Augustine’s beaches and coastal waters give us access to seasonal fish that bring a completely different kind of action.

Tarpon. Cobia. King mackerel. Sharks.

When the weather and fishing line up, it’s time to head outside.

What We Target Nearshore

Tarpon

One of the biggest seasonal prizes along the beach. Tarpon bring size, power and the kind of fight that can take over your whole morning.

King Mackerel

Fast, aggressive and capable of peeling line in a hurry.

Spanish Mackerel

A fast-moving coastal fish that can provide plenty of light-tackle action.

Cobia

Spring brings opportunities for cobia as these powerful fish move through local coastal waters.

Jack Crevalle

Jacks aren't subtle. When they eat, you know it, and bigger fish can put serious pressure on light tackle.

Sharks

The waters off St. Augustine hold a variety of sharks and give anglers another chance to hook into something with some real weight behind it.

Red Snapper

A prized bottom-fishing target when seasons and regulations allow.

We Fish More Than One Way

Nearshore fishing changes with the species and conditions.

Capt. Mike uses trolling, live and dead bait, bottom fishing, light tackle and other techniques depending on what he’s targeting.

His job is to understand what a particular species is feeding on and where it should be at that point in the tide and season.

Your job is to hang on when it eats.

Weather Matters

Nearshore fishing is weather dependent.

Some days the ocean gives us exactly what we want.

Other days staying inside makes more sense.

Capt. Mike keeps safety first and will work with you when weather affects the trip.
